Conversation with Emma

She came into my room where I was reading with a handful of rocks, to start her "collection." She asked me to pick one and I asked if she wanted to keep it for her collection. She said that she wanted everyone in our family to pick one so we could each have a collection. There were four rocks and she showed me that there was a rock for each person in our family.

"There are 4 people in our family. Bree, Dad, me and you! And if we get a dog, that will be 5. And if we get a flying pony, that'll be 6! And if we get the CareBears, all of them, that will be 7. And if they bring their sleeping bags they can have a sleepover! And the flying pony can sleep in here. Oh wait, just kidding. She sleeps outside!"

Anytime we're on an airplane, she makes sure to look out on the clouds to see if she can find the CareBears. And she asks the flight attendants if they've seen any. They get a good laugh and play along. She's quite bummed that she hasn't seen any yet.

And I'm starting to realize, through conversations with her, that she really thinks there is such thing as a flying pony. Grandpa Latham and Daddy have to answer to that :)
